This is an area of Celtic this site has rarely covered and we will be looking to do more in the coming season.

The Celtic Women’s side was founded in 2007. They quickly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with when they finished runners-up in the SWPL behind the dominant Glasgow City Womens side in seasons 2009 and 2010.

The Ladies won the Scottish Premier League Cup in 2010 and 2021.

Fran Alonso took over as head coach in 2020 and since then we have seen the side start to play free-flowing, attacking football and grow in popularity amongst the Celtic fans.

As the club bid to win the league this season, they have strengthened their forward line with the signing of Coventry United’s Liv Fergusson:

Fergusson began her career in 2014 with Aston Villa making 30 appearances and scoring 6.

Since then, moves to Bristol City, Yeovil Town, Sheffield United and Leicester City have preceded her move to Coventry and after one season she has earned her move to Celtic.

Liv has represented her country at u17 and u23 levels after making her debut in the UEFA European U17 Championships.

At 27 years old, the forward has plenty of experience to offer the club and we wish her well for the new season at Paradise.
