According to the Scottish Sun, Celtic have withdrawn their interest in right-back Peter Ankersen as they look to add to their defence.
The right side of the defensive third is an area we really need to be looking at adding to this summer with two leaving from that position in Mikael Lustig and Jeremy Toljan.
However, Ankersen is not going to be the next player to fulfil that role with the Bhoys apparently cooling their interest and looking for other targets.
The Hoops certainly need to identify who they want to bring in soon, though, as it won’t be long until we’re back playing competitively in the Champions League qualifiers.
Certainly, you’d like to think that we’ll have a proper right-back sorted for then but in the meantime, the waiting continues.
Ankersen is leaving current club FC Copenhagen but where he ends up also remains to be seen with this report in mind.
