Championship Return Nears For 62 Goal Celtic Man After He Misses Training (Updated)

|

With plenty of rumour mill speculation of an incoming kind at Celtic now we are well into the New Year and the January transfer window has long opened, there’s also some outgoing claims and there are suggestions that attacker Scott Sinclair missed training on Tuesday morning ahead of a proposed switch out to Championship side Preston North End.

Having travelled to Dubai for our warm weather training camp during the winter break, Sky Sports have reported that he sat out today’s session as talks on a move to Deepdale continued, but he is still with the club and hasn’t yet travelled back to hold talks with Alex Neil.

Having made the switch up to Parkhead from Aston Villa back in 2016 for a reported £3.5million, he’s returned 62 goals in 121 starts for us, with an additional 45 substitute showings, but having fallen out of favour under manager Neil Lennon this year, there was always some expectation that the 30-year-old would move on, especially given his reported wage and his contract situation.

Sky don’t state whether it would be a permanent move or a loan deal, so we’ll have to wait and see on that front.

Update:

Earlier this evening the BBC were reporting that he had now flew back to the country after the clubs agreed a deal and his move is now believed to be imminent after he completed his medical.
