Celtic fans love Chris Sutton. Straight talker. Shoots from the hip. Tells it how it is.
Not only about our rivals but also about the club.
He is a fair and balanced pundit unlike other former Celts that resort to ‘shock jock’ tactics just to get their headlines in the papers.
Sutton is also well known for his dry wit and sharpness when it comes to winding up the Ibrox support and on the day that Gerrard left Rangers to head for the Midlands and Aston Villa, Sutton pulled out one of his best tweets yet.
This morning, Sutton sent a tweet regarding Gerrard’s move and it was simple and beautiful, “Good luck to Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa.
“He was great for Scottish football and raised its profile.
“He will be a big loss to Rangers.
“Stopping Celtic winning 10 was a big deal but Callum Davidson did win more trophies than him over the time… who will Rangers turn to??

And it is fair to say that this little nugget of truth went down a storm on both sides of the city for very different reasons.
Whilst Celtic fans lauded his honesty, Rangers fans do what they do best. Denial.
such a pathetic man 🤦🏽♂️ https://t.co/fNtEtgGN4x

And there are many more like this.
With Gerrard out the picture it is unclear who Ange Postecoglou will face for the remainder of the season. But as the Celtic gaffer says, “We’re trying to build something here, and when you’re trying to build something and be successful you can’t afford to be looking over your fence to what other people are doing.
“We’ve got to build our house, make sure it’s nice and beautiful then see how it stacks up to the rest of the neighbourhood.”
And that is exactly what the Celtic fans will be looking forward to in January.
