With former Hibernian midfielder Kevin Thomson suggesting that with Celtic’s problems and lack of bodies up front, that we should make a move for Sheffield Wednesday and Scottish international forward Steven Fletcher on Wednesday evening, it’s not unfair to say that some fans are horrified with the suggestion.
Thomson is a former teammate of Fletcher’s at Easter Road so it’s understandable as to why he’d back him for a return to Scotland and across his career his eye for goal has been a strength for the now 31-year-old.
To save overly repeating myself from the previous article though, here’s the background.
“I Think He Will Score Goals” – BT Pundit Wants Wise Old Owl At Parkhead
His goal return in 2018/19, as previously noted isn’t great, but there is some sense in the big man up top to bring others into play angle, although clearly, the following fans who took to social media to react to the suggestion don’t agree.
Kevin Thompson has just said that Celtic should go for Steven Fletcher as he would suit our fast quick style of play.
Aye, maybe 7 or 8 years ago mate – the guy is terrible now. He couldn’t finish a packet of crisps!

Aye definitely. However, a reckon he’d still piss it up here and he’s a decent option tae bring on, knows how tae hold a ball up and bring others into play. Would like another goal scorer but

Sheffield Wednesday fans who responded as well were in favour purely from his wage point of view and their financial problems.
