Celtic’s largest piece of transfer business was completed late into the final day of the transfer window when they managed to offload their main striker Odsonne Edouard to Crystal Palace.
In a deal worth an initial £14m, rising to £18m with add ons, for a player with less than a year left on his contract, this is an incredible deal for the club and one that didn’t look likely the longer the transfer saga went on.
With the move finalised, Edouard posted an emotional farewell to the Hoops supporters on Twitter with the iconic “I wanna be Edouard” song from the crowd, “All great things must come to an end. my time at Celtic has come to an end. I have wonderful memories at my time with the club.
“I can not thank the fans enough for the support and love through out my 4 years with the club.”
And as Edouard begins his new journey with The Eagles, there was an interesting tweet posted at 1131pm on the 31st August, by the EPL club, that hooked in Rangers fans left, right and centre.
Now, just to be clear, I cannot put the Celtic fans replies on this because, well, you will get it once you read the tweets but just click the link, its worth it:

Any right minded football fan would clearly tell you that the evaluation that the club posted is for the EPL Fantasy Football League.
But to Rangers fans, they took this as an announcement from Palace that they had only paid £6.5m for the former Celtic man and embarrassed themselves by ridiculing the Scottish media and Celtic for reporting a £14m fee being paid.
One fan even called for the Hoops to clarify why the correct fee wasn’t announced to the London Stock Exchange:

But I’ll leave you with the best of the replies to cheer up your Wednesday morning:
