With all the attention currently on the incomings at Celtic, not much thought has been given to who will be leaving the club either in the long or short term.

Sure we all have an idea show should be leaving, but whether they do or not is another thing entirely.

When asked by a Celtic fan if Vasilis Barkas and Albian Ajeti are on their way out of Paradise, Kieran Devlin of The Athletic, gave a rather surprising summation. “Barkas is definitely one the club are looking to move on and one source suggests it is the same for Boli Bolingoli.

“Although Ajeti’s departure has a logic to it, his is not a name that has come up in conversations yet, and like Barkas, his wages and transfer fee will make it difficult to move him on permanently in January.

“Likewise, Ismaila Soro, whose name has not come up but can probably be included in that group.

“Otherwise, there will be those planned loan moves — or, if large enough fees can be attracted, a permanent transfer — for some young players who faced Betis.”

The surprising part for me is that Ajeti’s name has not been spoken about if Devlin’s sources are correct. That would seem to suggest that Ajeti may still have a future at the club but after almost two seasons with barely any input, that would surely seem unlikely?
