Is it just me or are all the stories regarding Celtic all negative? Is it because it’s the international break and there are slow news days?

Or  is it because the Hoops are on the up and it just doesn’t fit the narrative?

Who knows but another such story has hit the headlines today when massive fans site Football Fancast, called on Celtic to axe misfit full back Boli Bolingoli.

Now I’m not too sure what they mean by ‘axe’ because after his one and only appearance in the 1-0 defeat at Livingston, Bolingoli has been nowhere to be seen.

Which in itself was strange. To go from effectively being the FOURTH choice left back behind Greg Taylor, Adam Montgomery and you would need to assume, Liam Scales, the Belgian was a surprise inclusion to start in that game and to be fair to him, he equipped himself well.

However, the site looked at not only his performances for Celtic, but also his loan club Basaksehir, where he also appeared in the Champions League, “Bolingoli recorded a dismal WhoScored rating of 6.49 in his one Premiership appearance this term, ranking him 20th in the entire Celtic squad.

“That came after he played only once in the league last season before being loaned out to Basaksehir in Turkey.

“It didn’t get much better away from Parkhead with the Belgian averaging a disappointing rating of 6.63 in 12 appearances out on loan.

“Basaksehir played him six times in the Champions League as he averaged a dreadful score of 6.38.

“This, along with his form for Celtic and in the Super Lig, shows that the defender does not deserve to be starting games for Postecoglou’s team.”

A compelling case the site makes but then it is not one that is new to the Hoops support.

Many have been unconvinced since Bolingoli signed for the Hoops and his shenanigans last season sealed his fate with the Celtic fans.
