Celtic are looking to ramp up their transfer activity, it seems, as Ange Postecoglou plans to make an assault on Europe next season and defend this championship title.

There has been varying reports suggesting which positions Celtic are looking to strengthen with left back, striker and winger being mooted as the three priority positions for the Celtic manager.

And no one can really argue with that.

Greg Taylor certainly needs support as it seems Liam Scales just isn’t in the managers long term plans and with the injuries to Giakoumakis and Kyogo this season showing how light we are up top, a striker certainly would be a welcome addition.

But it was this revelation from Dutch journalist Marco Timmer that really caught the attention.

According to Timmer, Celtic are interested in  SC Heerenveen’s right winger, Milan van Ewijk.

Van Ewijk joined the Dutch side from Ado Den Haag just last summer for just over £500k.

And after just one goal and one assist, it seems he could be on the move with Timmer citing Celtic alongside PSV, Lille, Stade Brest, QPR as other clubs all noting interest in the versatile right sided player.

With an average rating of 7.04 on SofaScore, the young 21 year old shows good consistency and looking at his heat map below, his movement shows that he is an Ange Postecoglou type player.

We have three strikers and good ones left back yes need some height in the team

  • John says:

    He’s a right back

  • Charles McConnell says:

We need a left footed centre back, a hard defensive midfielder and another midfielder too. A taller left back would not go amiss either. We are awash with wingers. Rogic, Bitton are midfielders and over 6 feet tall. That has to be replaced. It looks like Jullien is on his way too. He’s also over 6 feet tall and he needs to be replaced too. We need taller, more physical players to compete in Europe.
