Scott Brown will forever be loved by the Celtic fans.

The most successful captain since Billy McNeill has now retired from football and officially takes the top job at English League One side Fleetwood Town.

The new gaffer has a job on his hands as he has his own rebuilding job to contend with after The Cod Army narrowly escaped demotion into the fourth tier of English football.

During his first interview with Sky Sports, he was asked what he thought about bus loads of Celtic fans planning to come down south to wish him well, Broony was delighted, “That’s amazing.

“I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to them all but they’ve been fantastic over my whole career. As I said before, I loved my time and Celtic and I loved my experience at Aberdeen as well.

“Because I went out there to learn the game. And I learned the game fairly quickly in the coaching terms of how it works day to day as well how to deal with players and how to deal with agents and players out of contract as well.

“So it’s given me a good starting point.”

There is no doubt that all of the Celtic family will be keeping a close eye on Broony’s new chapter in his career and all of us at Vital Celtic wish him all the very best.
