Another day, another Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota story.

Oh how I long for the minute those two are announced as permanent signings for the club.

It will help to put an end to the unending speculation surrounding their futures.

But what is telling is the lack of clarity surrounding them.

Ange has recently said that the club do want to keep them but the silence from the players is worrying.

But according to Mark Guidi, there is only one problem Celtic need to face up to in trying to tie them down.

Speaking  to Go Radio, the veteran journalist said, “You assess Jota, he’s been brilliant.

“I don’t know who unearthed him, who got the tip off, but he’s been brilliant and the same with Cameron Carter Vickers.

“Now look, Celtic can only do their bit in terms of, I don’t think, agreeing with Benfica for Jota, agreeing with Spurs for Carter-Vickers will be a major problem.

“I think that’s in place, and I think the finances will be there.

“And if you’re picking them up, for what we believe, let’s just call it £15 million quid for the two of them, however it’s divvied up.

“The problem will be the personal terms.

“You’d like to think that they’d want to stay with Celtic and play in the Champions League and then, eventually,  move on England and move on to a bigger league abroad somewhere.

“But if they sign for Celtic permanently then great. What a piece of business that will be and Celtic will move them on for much bigger money a year or two down the line.

“If they decide that they want to go and pick up their individual finances elsewhere. I don’t have a problem with that. Good luck to them.

“They’ve played a major part in making Celtic champions again, and if they go I’m sure they go with the best wishes of everyone. It would be unfortunate because you’d like to see them to stay.

“But they may well go. You just don’t just don’t know.”

Guidi has predicted before that he expects a deal to get done for Jota and I certainly hope that’s the case.

With the news that Rogic and Bitton are set to leave the club, could this free up some much needed funds to help strengthen the package for the two of them?
