Celtic need to look at defenders this summer with several areas across the back-four needing real work.

Primarily, we need a new centre-half and at least one new right-back this summer and so it is clear that our defence is going to look very different at the start of next season compared to the end of last.

Indeed, on the right-hand side of defence with Mikael Lustig gone and Jeremy Toljan leaving, we need a new option and apparently Tommy Smith is of interest.

According to Football Insider, we’re looking at the Huddersfield Town full-back with him recently relegated from the Premier League with the Terriers.

We are not the only side looking at him, though, with the report suggesting that Stoke City are also keen on the player at the moment.

It could be quite the battle, then, but with us being able to offer European football, surely we’ll be able to at least make a tempting offer if we press ahead.
