Celtic’s title win really was a thing of beauty this season.

No hope of winning it, even as early as six games into the season, must have lit a fire under Ange Postecoglou’s belly.

Because the gaffer was unwavering in his notion that his football would be successful.

Unwavering even when the press were hounding him with claims in October that the league could well be over.

A lot of journalists and pundits will be left with egg on their faces.

But not many will admit it.

One pundit, who is probably the fairest on the airwaves is Gordon Dalziel on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard.

Speaking about the challenge Ange had at the start of the season, Dalziel said, “He’s handled it brilliantly. You can’t be negative with him.

“He’s come into this country under severe pressure because everybody was waiting for him to fail. Everybody was waiting to have him out for Christmas.

“I don’t blame Celtic fans because after the year that Rangers had then trying to win back the league, having a look at all the players that left they were thinking we need a safe pair of hands.

“The people that have got to take a lot of credit and we don’t hear, is whoever went out and identified this guy and convinced him to come to Celtic.

“And he’s just taken that on.

“His signings, he’s made players better.

“He’s handled the praise great, his love of the fans, he’s won a double which nobody could believe.

“And the one thing I liked about him, out of everything that you can pat in the back for is, I thought his emotion today and the other night at Tannadice, shows what kind of a man he is.”

The Celtic gaffer is now written into the history of this great club.

And the scary thing is, he is only just starting.
