Moussa Dembele sealed his loan move to Atletico Madrid this week and the Spanish media are very excited about the ex-Celtic hitman joining the La Liga league leaders.  Dembele will have met up with his new team mates and will be hoping that he can make the short term loan a success to help persuade the Atletico board and Diego Simeone to shell out over £30m to make his move permanent.

The media covered the story and were gushing in their praise for the big Frenchman but one media outlet in particular ran a headline that could only be considered as either ill researched or quickly looked up on social media.  However they came up with it, it will be extremely popular amongst Celtic supporters but will leave our rivals across the city extremely unhappy.

Mundo Deportivo ran a story covering the Dembele transfer with the headline “Dembélé, the ‘***skelper’ with a prodigious physique to empower Atlético”

It truly is the definition of unintentional trolling on a mass scale. The journalist who wrote the piece, Chema G. Fuente, tried to explain what the term meant in Glasgow and wrote, “Lyon, who paid 22 million for Dembélé in August 2018 to sign him from Glasgow Celtic.  It was precisely at this club that he earned the nickname ‘***skelper’, which is a sort of ‘honorary title’ that Catholic fans give to their players for their performance at the club, especially in matches against their eternal rival, Rangers.  It is derived from the terms ‘h**’, which designates the fans of the blue box and ‘skelp’, which is hitting.”

I just wonder, if the editors at Mundo Deportivo REALLY knew what they were printing, would they still have let the title run?
