Shane Duffy has been in much of the headlines this season for all the wrong reasons. Performances on the pitch have not lived up to the Republic of Ireland internationals reputation in the English Premier League and his personal difficulties off the pitch certainly have not helped.
There have been plenty of rumours about Duffy returning England in this transfer window with Nottingham Forrest reportedly being keen on the defender. Ex Rangers player Kevin Kyle thinks Duffy should leave immediately, “See Shane Duffy? I don’t like saying this but I think he would just be better off going.
“Do it for yourself if anything else. The confidence is just zapped out of Celtic just now.
“I feel like they have accepted that it is over. I’ve said for a few weeks it is over with.
“When you are in a team you need to keep believing and keep working hard. I just don’t see that anymore with Celtic.
“We have all played football and when you are having a stinker you always say to yourself to just keep doing the basics right.
“You then get a bit of confidence and the better things start to happen. They are not even doing the basic things right.
“It is disrespectful to the football club and it is disrespectful to the fans.”
