At Celtic, we see many talented players grace the turf of Paradise.

From recent memory, Moussa Dembele, Odsonne Edouard and Kristoffer Ajer are three players that we have been blessed with.

Stretch it a little further back and we remember Virgil van Dijk, Victor Wanyama and many, many others.

When these players make their move from the club it’s generally to a middling to bottom team in the English Premier League before any of the top four take a chance on them.

But not in the case of Jeremie Frimpong.

Signed for a nominal fee from Manchester City [CelticFC] the young Dutch-born right back became an instant hit with the Celtic fans with his marauding runs down the right flank, his blistering speed and his infectiousness in front of the camera that spawned the, ‘Oh my days!‘ catchphrase.

Frimpong went from Celtic straight to the big-time with Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and it looks like he could be about to make his move to English Premier League giants Manchester United after some brilliant form this season.

That’s according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano told GiveMeSport“They need probably a new right-back. As an opportunity on the market, Jeremie Frimpong is one of the players they are following.

“They have sent their scouts multiple times to follow him, but Bayer Leverkusen will try to keep the player until the end of the season, so it’s not going to be an easy one.”

And what a move that would be for Frimpong should it come off for him.

Not only would he benefit from a big money move in terms of salary, Celtic would also benefit as the club hold a fairly decent sell-on clause for the young right back.

How good is your knowledge of the Martin O’Neill era?
