With still no explanation of what went on to make Dom McKay leave Celtic over the last week, we are all still looking to the club for answers.

As none are forthcoming, we then look to ex pro’s or people connected to the club to try and give us some insider knowledge.

Former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie has made a various sensational claims in his “column” today in Football Insider about Ange Postecoglou, the state of Dom McKay’s health and McKay’s perception of the magnitude of the Celtic job, “There are a lot of rumours flying around.

“We need to hear exactly what happened. What I do know is that when he was head of the Rugby he took time off because he was stressed.

“That’s not a good match if you want to work for a team like Celtic. I’m just speculating, maybe he didn’t realise the size of the job.

“I honestly don’t know but Postecoglou is on his own now, some people are saying they fell out.

“I don’t know about that. He’s just walked away, it just leaves a rotten taste in the mouth.

“They have to come out and say what happened. If he didn’t get on with Dermot Desmond then fine. There is only one winner there. Just say that.”

That’s a lot of conjecture from McAvennie and some I hope he can back up.

Claims like manager fall outs and especially speculating on the former CEO’s health does not help anyone, especially McKay at a time where he himself cited personal reasons.

Lets hope the club get a new CEO in quick sharp to help bring stability back to the boardroom, especially now as Postecoglou has brought harmony to the first team.
