It looks like their could be some light at the end of this very long tunnel.  The new Celtic manager is like a chapter out of The Never Ending Story (one for our readers of a certain “vintage”), just when the think the end is almost here, the story starts back at the beginning again.

With the announcement of the resignation of Nicky Hammond, the expulsion of the old regime is almost complete and you would suspect that with any new manager, especially of the calibre that is being spoken about, they will want to bring in their own team which means the fans can move on from picking on Gavin Strachan’s Ipad!

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show host, Rob McLean, was asking fellow pundit, Marvin Bartley, his thoughts on the new Celtic manager and Bartley divulged an astounding           prediction, “Celtic won’t be making a decision based on John Kennedy winning the Scottish Cup or not. I think they’ll have a list of people they want to speak to. Now, there’s a lot of big and good names linked with a job. But I agree they need to get probably a Director of Football.

Is "Rangers" a new club?

NO

“From what I have heard they are down to the last one or two people that they’re speaking to about this so I think they are a lot further along than some people might actually know.

“I expect so to get things sorted, as I said over probably the next week.  I think the new manager if it’s one of the couple of names that I have heard, they’ll get it right.

When asked about the loss of Scott Brown, Bartley continued,  “This is football, so Celtic can’t afford to look around and say we’ve lost Scott Brown now as well. Get the new manager in  and get the new Director of Football get their players in and start speaking to the players that you want to bring in and the players that you also might want to keep. As I said, I expect things to be done in the next seven days in terms of new manager.”

We can only hope that what Bartley says is true and we can then move on, identify new targets for next season and start the preparations for not only domestic dominance, but to make Glasgow Celtic a force in Europe once more.
