Celtic have been linked with with many players this window but this one, which has now reached the newsfeeds of Germany, is simply not going away.

Vital Celtic covered the Rabbi Matondo link to the club just last week and all talk of a move did seem to have calmed down.

Even journalist Alan Nixon had his doubts about this move.

But now it seems that the Hoops are facing serious competition from the English Premier League and France for the Welsh international.

According to Bild, there are SIX clubs vying for his signature along with Celtic.

From the English Premier League Leeds United, Notts Forest and Brentford are all named as interested parties and from Ligue 1 in France, Lens, Troyes and Stade Brest are also credited with interest in the winger.

Matondo has spent the last season on loan in Belgium from Schalke.

The German spent £8m on the Welsh winger back in 2018 but he has so far failed to make his mark at the club with only 32 appearances since joining the club.

He has also spent time on loan at Stoke City for a season and it looks like Schalke are ready to offload the 21 year old this summer.
