The transfer rumour mill is one that continues all year round isn’t it?

Granted, the majority of all speculation happens when the windows are open in the summer and in January, but there is always speculation all year round.

Especially when the feel good factor is so high, and you are a club the size of Celtic.

The Hoops have been consistently linked with Algerian international Zinedine Ferhat over the last couple of months and this very site has covered this story multiple times.

But it was given renewed interest over the last day or so as The Athletic‘s Celtic correspondent, Kieran Devlin, was asked about the move in his most recent Q&A on the football website.

Devlin was asked by fan, Charlie S, “Morning Kieran. Have you heard anything on Zinedine Ferhat and the club offering him terms? Cheers!

To which the journalist replied, “I’ve seen the reports but not been able to verify it.

“Personally, I’d be surprised by it to be honest if the reports are true, given he’d presumably be competition for Rogic, Turnbull, O’Riley and Hatate.

“You’d think that’s Celtic’s strongest area of the pitch now!”

As recent reports seems to suggest that the club have offered the 28 year old Algerian international a pre contract deal, it is surprising that the reliable Devlin hasn’t yet been able to verify the transfer story.

I guess this is one we will watch on with interest.
