Credit where credit’s due.

The pundit Celtic fans love to hate has actually spoken up for the club over the Riley McGree transfer for the second time in two days!

I reported last night on how Clyde 1 Superscoreboard pundit and journalist, Hugh Keevins send a positive message to the Celtic fans over the collapse of the deal.

And if the Celtic fans and if we are all honest with ourselves, we had never heard of the guy before so how can losing something you never had be a bad thing?

Anyway, after Middlesbrough announced the signing of the Australian international last night in a childish tweet aimed at Celtic, Keevins, speaking on the show last night said, “It’s a wee dig at Celtic who from a club who are seventh in the Championship and who are seven points away from the promotion places.

“So they’d be as well looking to their own selves and see what they can do.”

Nail. On. Head.

Mid table mediocrity is what Keevins stopped short of saying and as the journalist said before on the program, McGree got the worst review of any potential Celtic signing he has ever heard from a Birmingham based podcaster which can be read here [Born Celtic].

Good luck to the boy, but lets not kid ourselves. We have lost nothing by not signing him.

Straight off, I’ll confess to being a Boro fan. I fully agree the tweet was childish and pathetic. I’ve always had a soft spot for Celtic, and I think that’s true of most Boro fans. Having McGree wear the green away shirt (which is pretty awful anyway to be honest) suggests it was sanctioned at club level. There’s nothing positive that can come from this, and Celtic fans are rightly pee-ed off. Just know, there are fans down here who agree with you.

I think the Boro are on the up again (Wilder has transformed the club, and we’re not bound for mid-table mediocrity) but I don’t begrudge you saying that. We deserve it.

🤔 by the sounds that are coming out of Celtic fc fans you think he wasn’t worth signing anyway. So why are you annoyed he put pen to paper for a club who are in a totally different league? 😆
