With the transfer window well and truly closed, the talk now is of what players Celtic will be letting go this winter.

But it is not only transfer outgoings that has been worrying the Celtic fans as the upcoming World Cup qualifiers could see the Hoops missing several key players for their crucial SPFL matches at the tail end of January and beginning of February.

But a report [Yahoo Japan] emanating from Japan claims that Celtic will not need to worry about star striker Kyogo Furuhashi missing these key games.

The report claims that the manager has said that several key players will not be called up due to injury.

Japan Head Coach Moriyasu said of Kyogo, “IT HURTS FOR THE TEAM, BUT HE HAS TO OVERCOME THE MOST PAINFUL THINGS, INCLUDING UNEXPECTED THINGS, AND ACHIEVE OUR GOALS.

“INSTEAD, WE WILL BRING IN NEW PLAYERS, BUT WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING NEW PLAYERS COMING OUT.

“I WANT TO CHALLENGE THE MATCH WITH THE INTENTION OF MORE PLAYERS WHO WILL EXPERIENCE THE FINAL QUALIFIERS AND WIN AS JAPAN’S OVERALL STRENGTH. I THINK THERE ARE A LOT OF NEW PLAYERS WHO SAY ,”I’LL DO IT”, SO I WANT TO SELECT THE FINAL SQUAD.”

But this good news also has a double meaning. Kyogo’s injury could be worse than first thought and a return to first team action could be a long way off.

But it also means that new signing Daizen Maeda could be the one to replace our Japanese hitman.

Not so good news after all it seems.
