And no matter what, his love for Celtic is second to none.
How he speaks in the media about the club is brilliant. Critical when it is needed but fierce when it comes to defending the club when it is required.
But there may be one love that has taken over his affection for the club and that is the manager, Ange Postecoglou.
After the midweek fixture, Ange’s latest quote endeared hm to all football supporters when he said [67 Hail Hail], “As I said to the players, we had 60,000 in tonight and I’m sure a lot of them walked in with some problems in their life.
“For this 95 minutes we made them forget that and feel good and that’s something special.”
And this provoked this amazing reaction from former Celtic striker John Hartson on Go Radio, “I’m not saying managers don’t think it, but to come out and say it and show that empathy that he has for families struggling, just gone through the pandemic, people losing their lives.
“The cancer patients can’t go in and get scans and can’t get operations and things like that because it’s put to one side.
“Hundreds and hundreds of thousands of cancer patients are not getting seen to. Are not getting treated. So he’s a very humble guy.
“And for all the success early on this season for Celtic, have got to the top of the league.
“His signings have worked out for him. Brought in really good signings. He’s still thinking about the people at home that can’t afford to come to the games.
“He’s just it’s a people’s person. That’s what he is.
“And he doesn’t mind coming out and sharing and these quotes that he comes up with.
“He doesn’t get too high. He stays very balanced. That’s exactly how he is. I absolutely love him and I think that Celtic fans do as well.”
Ange gets the club. He gets the values the club stands for. And this is why the Celtic support have taken him quickly to their hearts.
