I know this is an old video but I’ll tell you something I will look for anything that gives me hope that Jota will sign a permanent deal with Celtic.
And what is striking about this video is that it is the Portuguese wingers press conference when he joined the Hoops.
Now think of this.
He hadn’t represented the club yet. He hadn’t played in front of 60,000 fans yet. He hadn’t tasted European nights under the lights yet.
He hadn’t won his first trophy. Yet.
For Jota, the trophy will come. He, unfortunately, missed out on the League Cup due to injury but he would have undoubtedly witnessed the scenes of celebration.
And when you listen and watch this, even before having all the experiences he has had with Celtic up until now, you can see from what he says and how he speaks about the club that he is delighted to be at Celtic.
In a video shared by A Celtic State of Mind, Jota said, “I think just Celtic itself, the name speaks for itself and I couldn’t say no.
“It’s an amazing team such a historic team and to be in Europa League, to be in the Scottish League.
“It’s amazing.
“I just can’t wait to play as much as I can and to win everything.”
I think he’ll stay. I hope he stays.
He’s experienced Europe at Celtic and saw what it is like to win silverware.
Clearly motivated more by winning than money, Jota, as he said himself, wants to win everything.
Celtic is perfect for him!
