It’s when, and only when, these types of accounts break this kind of news that I sit up and take proper notice of Celtic transfer rumours.
The well ‘connected’ transfer guys like Fabrizio Romano, Pete O’Rourke and Ekrem Konour are the ones that, when a story is tweeted by them, you can virtually take it as gospel that that it is very accurate.
This morning, Ekrem tweeted out a brilliant update on Celtic’s on loan winger Jota, where he said that the Hoops are continuing talks with Benfica over a permanent deal for the 22 year old.

The most impressive part of this is that he says Jota wants to stay at Celtic so all it seems that needs done is to pay the money and get him signed.
The news has been rife all weekend from the Scottish media that Celtic were in talks with Benfica and the fans will be on tenterhooks wondering if a deal will ever get over the line but this latest update will give them more belief than hope.
Benfica won’t want a player returning to them that doesn’t want to be there. Celtic won’t want to lose a player of Jota’s quality and with a fee reportedly already written into the loan agreement, this deal should now be pretty straightforward.
Make it happen Celtic!
