“I don’t think there’s any doubt about that” – BT pundit makes exciting Jota claim

Jota to Celtic is one that has the potential to break the supporters hearts.

As soon as we saw his dazzling skills on the wing, we knew we had a player.

And pre injury, the performances from the Portuguese winger had the Celtic supporters clambering for the club to get him signed up permanently.

With no immediate news about any contract offers or even if Celtic have taken up the option to buy yet, doubt is starting to creep in on whether there will be a deal at all for the 23 year old.

But according to BT Sports pundit Allan Hutton there may well be.

Speaking to Football Insider, Hutton said, “They will be talking about it in the background. I don’t think there’s any doubt about that.

“It just hasn’t probably got out there into the public domain yet. There’s no doubting his quality, we see it.

“He scores goals, he assists, he’s a real threat on his day. They’ll want to tie him down, Postecoglou will want that to happen.

“Then he can move on to other areas of the pitch where he feels he needs to strengthen and this isn’t a distraction. So I’m pretty sure, in the background, they will be talking about it.”

Let’s hope he is correct.

Let’s hope that the board have already begun the negotiations because the longer the silence surrounds this deal, the more I believe it will not be done.
