As it looks like Celtic hope to tie up their transfer business early with the speculation that has been making the headlines this week, the Hoops support will not be happy with journalist Ekrem Konur’s latest tweet.

The transfer specialist tweeted an update about Celtic favourite Jota when he said,  🔥 Fulham have added 23-year-old Jota to their short transfer list. #FFC #FulhamFC #Celtic”

Celtic have a transfer option on the Portuguese winger with a fee in the region on £6m believed to have already been agreed by the Parkhead club and Benfica but it is all down to the player on whether or not he wants to make his stay in Glasgow a permanent one.

When asked about his future [Daily Record] at the club after Celtic’s 2-0 win against Ross County, Jota said, “No, not a chance. I’m just enjoying it day by day and it’s been a terrific season for me.

“I’m just enjoying getting to know the people around, be a better person, be a better football player.

“I’m learning every day with really quality people so that’s what I’m doing, I don’t have to talk about that.

“I just want to enjoy and give everything for this shirt.

“Of course, as football players we need to keep our minds on the pitch, that’s all that matters.

“Bureaucratic things are for other times, so let me just play football and enjoy it.”

The supporters will hope that the talented winger will decide to settle in Glasgow and maybe the lure of Champions League football under the lights at Celtic Park may yet persuade him to sign on the dotted line.

Fulham??? No offence to them but If Jota doesn’t stay at CP he’s not going to give up the chance to play in the Champion’s League for an inevitable relegation battle. Honest to God the arrogance of these twats thinking that the EPL is the be-all and end-all…well, it isn’t. It’s now nothing more than a soulless exhibition for the benefit of the prawn sandwich brigade.

    I guess we’ll see what happens…
