It’s the news we have been waiting for weeks for and now that he is here, we can look forward to seeing how our new signing will attempt to dislodge Kyogo up top and start banging in the goals.

Vital Celtic brought you news this morning from South  Korea that Oh was set to be announced and the club certainly has not disappointed.

Oh Hyeon-gyu joined the Hoops on an incredible five-year deal for £2.5m and in this exclusive interview with Celtic TV, he revealed what his aims are at the club:

“I feel like I am on a movie set and I’m really excited to be in the city and I’m looking forward to the upcoming days.

“One of my aims is to score a lot of goals and I also have ambitions of winning the league championship.

When he was told that he is the third Korean to have played for Celtic he was asked what he knew about Ki and Cha Du-ri:

“Ki Sung-yeung and Cha Du-ri are two of the players I respect the most.

“I’ve seen them playing for Celtic and I’m now happy to have the Celtic badge on my chest and working with the team on it’s goals.”

Oh’s scoring record isn’t exactly one that sets the heather on fire. With just 14 goals in 53 appearances for his former club [Transfermarkt] it is clear that he has work to do become a prolific striker but what you can be sure of is that at just 21 years old, Ange Postecoglou will improve this raw young talent so that he will have the ability to challenge Kyogo for the striking position.

Who are Celtic’s most capped players from these countries?
