There’s nothing anyone can say about the Dom McKay story except maybe tell everyone the actual reason he left/got sacked/resigned.

Another way to report the Dom McKay story would be to name his possible successor.

And that is exactly what journalist, Mark Guidi has done on The Go Radio Football Show.

Guidi was shocked at the news of McKay’s departure on the show and reckons that he knows who the next man is for the Hoops hotseat, “Absolutely shocked at the news of Dom McKay.  Peter Lawwell and Dermot Desmond handpicked Dom McKay, and nobody could see this coming.

“Be interesting to see what comes out behind the scenes but there’s clearly been a frustration I would imagine, in some of the work that he’s tried to get done at the football club.

“His role has now been taken over by Michael Nicholson, a well respected lawyer who’s been a football club for eight years.

“It’s a shock, an absolute shock that the Chief Executive has left and Michael Nicholson the acting Chief Executive, I would imagine that he’d be given the role permanently.”

There is a degree of dubiety surrounding the departure of a CEO that had spent just 72 days in the role and in that time he appointed Ange Postecoglou, oversaw the signings of Kyogo Furuhashi, Liel Abada and Joe Hart.

With the Celtic statement that was released telling us everything but giving away nothing, we are yet to see if Guidi’s prediction will come true as, if regular readers will remember, he was never done telling us Eddie Howe was signing for the club every time he was on the show.
