“If you look at the numbers” – Roger Hannah blows Kenny Millers Kent/Jota argument out the water

This was a piece I was going to cover over the weekend. But many Celtic sites already did and I felt it was done to death.

The Kenny Miller statement about Ryan Kent being on a par with Jota was just daft.

Let’s be honest. And this is not a Celtic/Rangers thing. It’s a football thing.

Jota’s goals and assists over the last two seasons are as follows:

2021/22 : P40 Goals 13 Assists 14

2022/23 (so far): P8 Goals 4  Assists 4

Compare that to Kent:

2021/22: P46 Goals 3 Assists 19

2022/23: P10 Goals 0 Assists 3

Not even close. Not even on the same planet so for Miller to make the claim [Daily Record] was just plain stupid.

Even the reporters of the very same newspaper said Miller was talking rubbish (except Keith Jackson, surprise surprise) which you can read here (if you want.)

And Roger Hannah agreed. It’s not even close.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Hannah said, “It will be interesting to see how they [Rangers] deal with the Ryan Kent situation.

“His form has been poor. His numbers haven’t been what they should have been.

“If you look at the numbers of Jota and Liel Abada at Celtic in terms of goal to games, the ratio is far, far higher.

“Ryan Kent’s goal-to-game ratio is poor in comparison.”

To be honest, the stats I used were very easy to find. It took about five minutes.

Just as long as it took for me to dismantle the shockingly bad BBC ‘Ange linked to Leicester‘ piece.

Is it really that easy to be a journalist these days where opinions don’t need to be fact checked?

It’s the dreaded international break. So take away the boredom and try our *BRAND NEW* quiz. Who are Celtic’s most capped players from these countries?

Kenny Millar is paid as a football pundit…. his employer should sack him for breach of contract . As he gives his expert opinion “not” on what he sees but what he wants it to be
