As Celtic seem to nearing the end of their managerial hunt, it seems there may be another twist to this tale as news of an English Premier League managerial vacancy beckons.
Roy Hodgson was holding his pre match press conference where he admitted that he is “not interested at the moment” at holding talks to extend his current stay at Crystal Palace.
Hodgson’s contract runs out in the summer and with speculation rife linking Palace to the Celtic target, it seems the Hoops may have a fight on their hands for their No1 target, “I’m not interested in having that discussion at the moment. I’m interested in working very hard with the players. We’re here and making certain we finish this season properly.

“And as a result it’s the games ahead of us that interest me much more than the next season at the moment and when the time is right we’ll discuss it”
When asked by a reporter when the time WILL be right to discuss extending his contract Hodgson irked as he replied, “Well again these are things that I will keep to myself until such time as I feel it’s the right moment to make any announcement. Every week I get the same question every week I give the same answer.
“And I’m gonna continue doing that until such time that I feel there’s an announcement to be made.”
This news will surely test the resolve of Howe who is reportedly weighing up his options before making an announcement on his immediate future. If the board are serious about making Howe their man, they must make him an offer he simply cannot refuse or risk losing their man to the EPL.
