Football fans, and Celtic fans in general, all have a bee in their bonnet about the standards of journalism in this country.
There is a serious lack of originality in Scottish journalism and the art of looking for and investigating a story is long gone.
It just doesn’t happen any more.
If they are not copy and pasting each others work, they are taking material from Celtic blogs like mine.
And it has happened on numerous occasions to this site.
But it’s not just the bloggers the media get their stories from.
It seems they also lurk about fan forums for their next ‘exclusive’ as revealed by Ewan Cameron.
Speaking on The Big Scottish Football podcast, Cameron said, “The thing is though right, see if you’re a football fan and you’re working in media you go into all the fans forums and the reason you go into all the fans forums is because they know more than journalists nine times out of ten.
“So I’m on Follow Follow. I’m on Jambos Kickback. I’m on Hibs.net. I’m on Celtic Minded.
“Because for some strange reason, the fans seem to get the news before anybody else.
“So the rumour has been flying around for last 24-36 hours that Gio is on his way.
“And here we are today Gio is out the door, and I found that out last night on Follow Follow.”
Shocked? No. Surprised? Don’t be daft.
It is little wonder fan media sites like this and others are thriving.
I’d expect nothing else from the lazy wage-thieves of the SMSM…
Not just the Written SMSM I just watched STV Yes SCOTTISH tv and “the rangers” the second team in SCOTTISH football. Have a player out for months,no manager, being sued for millions, board in dissary,the people who have been touted for the managers job have pulled out….yet SCOTTISH tv made absolutely no mention of any of it
Don’t you know ? The worst ,and I mean worst ,TV channel in the history of the universe is a ‘business,’ partner of the Rangers ! And that my friend means toeing the party line under ALL circumstances……..All the lies and deceptions are absolutely tolerated by Raman and ‘tin-tin ,’ and co , until the very end …….Nothing to see or hear here……..Moving along ….!
