It wasn’t too long ago Ange Postecoglou was speaking about how he feels the media treat him in Scotland in a condescending manner.

Not many agreed with his point but I did.

I felt, like Ange, from day one the media in this country were quite ‘cute‘ in how they would word their questions as if Postecoglou has never had a job managing a real football club in a real league.

I have written about it a few times on here and finally Ange brought it up publicly.

And he was quite right to as well.

Speaking on the A Celtic State of Mind podcast, journalist and contributor to the show, Tony Haggerty was discussing how the Celtic gaffer needs to be able to adapt to changing situations within a game when he revealed an insightful text he received from, I assume, a Celtic supporting journalist friend, “We have to adapt. I have been saying it since day one. And I got that txt this morning which I think is quite pertinent.

“And one of my  journalistic friend said to me, ‘I’m sick of Ange and his way. Only egomaniacs or extremely limited managers don’t embrace pragmatism.’

“I find that hard to argue with that. I really do.

“It’s not pleasant seeing Celtic lose 4-0 in any match never mind European tie.

“And apathy set in amongst the supporters last night. A lot of them are leaving 65-70 minutes.

“I spoke to my father, and he said, for one of the few times watching  Celtic, he got bored. And he left 10 minutes from the end. My father’s never done that and it tells you a lot about the current situation.”

Now this will be why Ange feels this way. And let me explain.

As a blogger, I have this platform to vent my feelings about the team when I am frustrated or happy with performances. Some people agree, some people don’t.

I am not fortunate enough to be able to speak to the Celtic gaffer about that but I would like to think I could leave my frustrations at the door if I ever had the opportunity to speak to Ange personally.

Or could I?

Could any Celtic supporting journalist? Could they keep the questions calm and composed when witnessing their team being bested by the likes of Hearts and Livingston?

They are only human after all and for all I would love to say I wouldn’t let my frustration show, I’m willing to bet I couldn’t.

And could this be what Ange is referring to? Frustrated Celtic supporting journalists who are not convinced that Ange is the man to take their club forward and use their platform to display that?

Like I said, we are all human. But when it comes to football, we are all passionate too.

What will it take for these so called Celtic loving journalists to accept big Ange. Will it take a domestic winning treble and a superb European cup run to accept this man?

Love the foot ball they play right and left fullback going inside wingers staying wide gives fullbacks a choice of passes instead off running up a blind alley wingers know have midfielder over lapping and any celtic player passes and moves to give defender hard to stop the pass goal keeper coming out for as a passing target let’s to middle defenders to go wide and and cuts down the passing distance and opposition trys to pres they need to use three or four cause of the position of hart

I’ve lived in Australia in the past. I’m back in Scotland again and been a season ticket holder since I came back and the only reason I held on to my season ticket this year was because Ange was appointed.

I watched his Melbourne victory side and the Aussie international team when he was in charge. I really thought it would take more time to settle than it has and, even before a ball was kicked this year, had pretty much written off this season but was happy to see what progress we could make after last year’s trainwreck.

Loving the turnaround and the team this season. The most I’ve enjoyed Celtic for a good while.

So we were beaten in Europa League a few times… Shouldn’t we be a little expectant of that when we’re trying to bed in a new group? I’m fine with them having a go as if rather go down swinging than just attempt to block. Even the 0-4 I didn’t think we played that bad. Certainly plenty of positives and reasons to hope going forward.

I feel that those who still don’t like Ange made their mind up in the summer and are just too stubborn to change it. Also, some have their own ideas about how to play football, and it’s okay to have an opinion but I wouldn’t want the manager to be so weak willed they felt they had to listen and adapt to outside opinion. I’ve been a football fan for years, attending matches all over the place and I for one am loving this Celtic side and the way they play. Long may it continue and long may big Ange reign.
