“I’m sick of Ange” – Celtic podcaster reveals astonishing text from a ‘journalistic friend’

It wasn’t too long ago Ange Postecoglou was speaking about how he feels the media treat him in Scotland in a condescending manner.

Not many agreed with his point but I did.

I felt, like Ange, from day one the media in this country were quite ‘cute‘ in how they would word their questions as if Postecoglou has never had a job managing a real football club in a real league.

I have written about it a few times on here and finally Ange brought it up publicly.

And he was quite right to as well.

Speaking on the A Celtic State of Mind podcast, journalist and contributor to the show, Tony Haggerty was discussing how the Celtic gaffer needs to be able to adapt to changing situations within a game when he revealed an insightful text he received from, I assume, a Celtic supporting journalist friend, “We have to adapt. I have been saying it since day one. And I got that txt this morning which I think is quite pertinent.

“And one of my  journalistic friend said to me, ‘I’m sick of Ange and his way. Only egomaniacs or extremely limited managers don’t embrace pragmatism.’

“I find that hard to argue with that. I really do.

“It’s not pleasant seeing Celtic lose 4-0 in any match never mind European tie.

“And apathy set in amongst the supporters last night. A lot of them are leaving 65-70 minutes.

“I spoke to my father, and he said, for one of the few times watching  Celtic, he got bored. And he left 10 minutes from the end. My father’s never done that and it tells you a lot about the current situation.”

Now this will be why Ange feels this way. And let me explain.

As a blogger, I have this platform to vent my feelings about the team when I am frustrated or happy with performances. Some people agree, some people don’t.

I am not fortunate enough to be able to speak to the Celtic gaffer about that but I would like to think I could leave my frustrations at the door if I ever had the opportunity to speak to Ange personally.

Or could I?

Could any Celtic supporting journalist? Could they keep the questions calm and composed when witnessing their team being bested by the likes of Hearts and Livingston?

They are only human after all and for all I would love to say I wouldn’t let my frustration show, I’m willing to bet I couldn’t.

And could this be what Ange is referring to? Frustrated Celtic supporting journalists who are not convinced that Ange is the man to take their club forward and use their platform to display that?

Like I said, we are all human. But when it comes to football, we are all passionate too.
