We’ve all seen how Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard carries himself on the football pitch. The only difference is many fans opinion changes depending on whether we are winning or losing.  If Celtic are winning he’s a cool customer with an air of nonchalance. But on the flip side, if the team are losing and performances are poor, claims of ‘laziness’ and ‘he doesn’t care’ have rang the through the halls of social media.

To many, it does seem that Edouard has lost the spark that once made him a clinical striker in front of goal and reports of promises broken are similar to what ex Celtic striker, Moussa Dembele, went through back in 2018.

Former Celtic striker Scott McDonald claimed on The Go Radio Football Show, that people shouldn’t look too much into Edouard’s body language and said there are alarming comparisons to the Moussa Dembele situation three years ago, “His body language has been that like that on numerous occasions throughout his Celtic career. That’s the way he carries himself, but I’m not trying to defend him in terms of some of the performances this year.

Will Celtic regret letting Scott Brown go?

“We just don’t know what’s going on in the background as well in terms of what’s been promised to the player in terms of stay for another season and then we’ll let you go and we’ll sell your who’s been in for him whether his head to been turned if that has been the case. And sometimes this can happen in football clubs that communication differs over time.

“We’ve seen it with a Dembele incident that when he left the football club and what he said was totally different to what the club had said what he had been promised previously and how he kicked up a stink, and there’s a possibility that might have happened again.”
