The Daily Mail are reporting that it’ll take £5m in compensation for Leicester City to appoint Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers.

The paper reckon the Foxes are willing to shell out for the required amount too, believing that Rodgers could indeed be on his way back to the Scottish Premiership, with Leicester hoping it’s before the end of the season.

The thought of losing Rodgers at this stage of the season is horrendous, no matter the fee involved, with the team currently chasing an unprecedented ‘treble treble’ of domestic trophies.

It’s hard to imagine the manager would swap incoming success for a mid-table English Premier League side. If he is to leave, surely it would be at the end of a season?

Still, with so many outlets carrying reports that the top-flight team are interested, you’d have to imagine that we are facing a fight to keep the manager here in the long-term.

It’s not the first time he’s been linked with moves away, so hopefully this all turns out to be paper talk yet again.
