As Eddie Howe, apparently, is taking his time to make a decision on whether to take the Celtic managers job, the Hoops have received a timely boost as The Transfer Window podcast reveals that Crystal Palace have approached Celtic linked, Frank Lampard and Shaun Dyche.

Lampard and Dyche have been linked with the top job at Celtic Park over the course of the last few months but nothing concrete had materialised.

Co host of the podcast, Ian McGarry, revealed that Lampard has been approached as London seems to be his preferred choice of destination, “It’s my understanding that they’ve (Crystal Palace) been in contact with Frank Lampard, which I think is not a great surprise given that he is available after being dismissed by Chelsea.

Should John Kennedy become the next Celtic manger?

NO

YES

“Obviously, a Londoner, based in London, you can see the kind of appeal of bringing Lampard to Crystal Palace, what that would have for the ownership there.”

Host, Duncan Castles, “The other aspect of this is that we understand that Shaun Dyche of Burnley is also on the list of preferred candidates of Crystal Palace and he is someone they would look to depending on what happens with Roy Hodgson and the other candidates”

With no mention of Eddie Howe being in the reckoning, it would seem that if he did express interest in the job, he would likely be Palace’s third choice as their manager. This is a major and timely boost for the Hoops fans as an announcement is expected early next week on the manager’s situation with the arrival of new C.E.O., Dom McKay.
