It’s time. The first Glasgow Derby of the season is upon us and this is one that has been long awaited by the Celtic fans.

The confidence the supporters go into this game with is a far cry from where it was less than four weeks ago when the club where being knocked out of the Champions League and losing to Hearts, many Hoops fans would have been fearing the worst from the coming season.

But twenty four goals later and a winning six game run certainly changes that outlook and coupled with Ange Postecoglou’s swashbuckling style of football, the Celtic fans have fallen back in love with their team and look forward to every game under their Aussie boss.

Confidence is high amongst them for the game today, but John Hartson has tempered those feelings with his thoughts on who will be the favourites for this afternoon’s big match and a sobering analysis of Celtic’s new man, Carl Starfelt.

Speaking on Go Radio, Hartson said, “I think Rangers will start favourites but Celtic are playing with a swagger. They really are.  Celtic have won six out of six. The strikers are scoring goals.

“Really impressive from Celtic. Some clean sheets in there as well. So I think, Celtic, if they go at it in the right manner, I think they can cause an upset.

“With the pace and the power that they have particularly going forward.

“I’m still to be convinced by Starfelt, the centre half.  I’m not overly convinced yet that he is the commanding centre half  to take Celtic forward in the next few years.

“I agree about Rangers starting as favourites, on the back of on the back of winning the title last season.”
