It certainly looks like the time is coming for Josip Juranovic to leave Paradise and yesterday’s sub appearance could end up being the last time we see him in a Celtic jersey.

With transfer speculation reaching an almost fever pitch over the last few weeks, rumours were abound last night that Chelsea had made a £13m bid for the Croatian right-back.

These rumours were denied by Football Scotland’s Mark Hendry but within the last twenty minutes, top Chelsea podcaster and journalist Simon Phillips has claimed that The Blues have made an enquiry for Juranovic.

Phillips has a huge presence on Twitter with his personal account reaching over 340k followers and both his podcast accounts have over 250k followers on the social media platform.

Clearly well respected by the Chelsea fans, Phillips cites sources close to the club but he also claims that the London club are also looking at two other possible options for the right-back position.

If Juranovic were to leave in this window, it would be with our blessing.

His performance in the Glasgow Derby yesterday was reminiscent of Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie when they underperformed in the same fixture at the beginning of last season as they sought to move from the club.

With the Hoops already having what looks like a perfect replacement in Alistair Johnston, we would be well equipped to cope with both the Canadian and Anthony Ralston providing ample cover in that position.

How good is your knowledge of the Martin O’Neill era?
