The success of the team this season has largely been down to the managers recruitment.

I cannot recall at any point in time in my years following Celtic of one transfer window, never mind two, where almost every single player that has been brought in has been a success.

Joe Hart, Cameron Carter Vickers, Carl Starfelt, Josip Juranovic, Jota and Kyogo have all been stalwarts since arriving in the summer and the signs are also looking good with the January recruits with only Yosuke Ideguchi still to make his mark as, largely, his appearances have been limited due to injury.

Only two of these players are not Celtic’s, but the two have been instrumental in the clubs early seasons success. Jota and Carter-Vickers.

And whilst the fans are desperate for both to be signed up permanently, there has been no movement within the club, that we know of, that deals are close to being done for them.

But as a late night news story broke last night from US media outlet SBI Soccer, it seems Celtic could face stiff competition from Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City and three other clubs for Carter-Vickers signature.

The report claims Watford, Bournemouth and Wolves are all eager on the American centre back with the author of the piece, Larry Henry Jr, confirming last night on Twitter that all four clubs had contacted Spurs about his availability.

Celtic fans will be hoping that the taste of silverware, guaranteed European football and a 60,000 crowd every second week should be enough to convince him to stay but with the money available down south, the Hoops could be blown out the water, even with by the English Championship sides.

If CCV prefers cash over medals and glory then there’s nothing we can do about that, but if he stays with THE HOOPS he’ll be on a winner ,medals, glory and a good wage.why go near Leicester the snake won’t last there much longer ,with no European football next season.
