We’ve all cried out for something like this for decades.
Long have the refereeing mistakes in this country been the subject of much division and discussion, they have also led to a deep distrust of fans of all clubs in the Scottish league.
None more so than the Celtic fans.
With VAR being the subject of much debate this season, it was feared that due to spiralling costs the clubs would seek to vote against the introduction of the Video Assistant Referee but an announcement made by the company that deploys the scheme seems to suggest that VAR is close to being deployed in the SPFL.
Hawkeye, the company responsible for the rollout of the game changing technology has begun the recruitment process for a Football Replay Officer in Scotland.
The role if for April to October, which I would assume is the training period, after that I would guess that VAR will then be implemented the following season.
The referees in Scotland need help. The game needs help.
For too long have refereeing errors been a part of costing clubs points, trophies and promotion/relegation and surely now, with the seemingly close introduction of VAR all clubs can now put their conspiracy theories behind them and move forward with the times.
Unless there is doubt cast on who is manning the monitors…………

Me personally I think refs in Scotland would not want var as they won’t be able to make honest mistakes and then our rivals would lose at least 20 penalties a season
Will make a big difference refs will be aware of it can’t hide I’d like somebody not associated with scottish sfa an independent source cause sfa have been caught trying to stop team progressing holding back contracts letting refs away with cheating sfa are rotten to the core
