Craig Dawson is a player I’d have loved at Celtic for next season but it would seem as though any chance of that happening has gone out of the window.
The Mirror had reported that Brendan wanted to bring the defender to the club after West Brom were relegated.
Certainly, as we look to dominate domestically further and improve our European form, we need to make big signings like this but, financially, it now looks hard to complete.
According to the Telegraph, West Brom want £20m for the defender to move and, though we’ve got a decent budget this summer, we won’t be paying that much.
The Verdict
It’s a shame but it would be a shock now if we somehow got the defender in.
He’s very good and Premier League level and, evidently, West Brom want a fee to reflect that.
Never mind, on to new targets this summer as we approach the new season next month.
