In the latest twist in the SPFL vote saga, interim Rangers Chairman, Douglas Park, has written to Murdoch MacLennan to clarify claims that he “hates Rangers” after an old article from Private Eye was regurgitated over the last few days.

The Daily Record has reported that the Ibrox club has written to the SPFL chief in response to his demands for them to release the information that they claim show impropriety in the voting of a resolution that would see the 2019/20 season finished early and promotion and relegation decided by current standings.

From which club did Celtic sign Henrik Larsson?

Park’s request is based around MacLennan having previously worked for a firm part owned by Celtic’s largest shareholder, Dermot Desmond, Rangers deemed him unfit for purpose in 2017 only to be rebuffed by the league’s governing body.

Although the SPFL are set to carry out an internal investigation into the farce, Rangers are said to be unhappy claiming that the evidence they have is enough to call for the suspension of both Neil Doncaster and Rod McKenzie.

Celtic fans reacted to the news by treating it with the disdain they felt it deserved as the Ibrox club refuse to get what they truly want.

One thing is clear in the whole sorry affair, this is an issue that isn’t going to be resolved anytime soon or with any class and decorum as battle lines are drawn up, Celtic have done well to stay out of things and maintain their dignity whilst all around them lose theirs.
