Celtic “doing it the right way” as Hoops play the waiting game in SPFL saga

|

Former Rangers full-back, Alan Hutton, has backed Celtic’s position and judgement whilst the SPFL vote saga continues to dominate Scottish football.

Speaking to Football Insider, the former Scotland international agrees with the Hoops stand point that the season should be completed if possible.

So what has Hutton said?

Hutton was asked how the recent shambles will have been received at Celtic Park and said:

“Celtic are in a strong position. They were flying before this virus stuff. They will probably sit back and see how it pans out.

“We know they are going for the ninth in a row and you would hate to be given a title and for it to be forever remembered as the one that was given out because of coronavirus. It is difficult. Yes, you want to be champions but you still have to finish the season in my eyes. If they get awarded the title everybody will know what happened that year.

“But they are doing it the right way. They have made their judgement.”

So is Hutton correct?

Absolutely, Celtic are probably the only club in the country that can sit and wait throughout the whole coronavirus pandemic given their current bank balance.

From which club did Celtic sign Henrik Larsson?

With the SPFL ruling out a null and void season, any possible outcome benefits the Hoops either by the season resuming and coasting to their ninth successive title or by it being called off early and being awarded the Scottish Premiership championship that they so richly deserve.

It may well be remembered as the season that coronavirus affected but with dropped points in just four games all season and still undefeated in the cups, there is only one ending that can be justified and that is with Scott Brown lifting yet another trophy.
