Liel Abada has been sensational for Celtic since he signed for the club last summer.

In his maiden season at the Celts, Abada made an incredible 54 appearances for the club scoring 15 goals and creating 11 [Transfermarkt].

This season, his form has picked up where it left off and in nine appearances he has scored 6 and created one.

Granted, his game time has been limited as he has been utilised mainly from the bench, but a hattrick in the Glasgow Derby and a brace against Dundee United has just shown what an asset he is to the team.

Abada has recently changed agents where he dumped Dudu Dahan in preference of Hussein Al Gaaod which, to me, seems perfectly innocent and a normal occurrence in world football.

But Mark Hendry made a claim in a piece in Football Scotland that the decision to switch agents was to “strengthen his position in the transfer market – with Premier League clubs circling.”

To my mind, the last time a Premier League club came ‘circling’ for Abada was back in February when there was reported interest [The Sun] from Crystal Palace which Celtic rebuffed.

That’s it. And for the life of me, I couldn’t find anything else on any other club looking at the Israeli.

But the thing that’s most concerning is the reason Hendry gave for the change in agents.

‘To strengthen his position in the transfer market’ infers that Abada is looking to move on. It suggests that he is willing to leave the club at the drop of a hat and yet the report goes on to say that “Football Scotland understands the player is currently very happy at Parkhead.”

So if he’s not just happy, but very happy, why would he feel the need to strengthen his position in the transfer market and what evidence is there that Al Gaaod can do that better than Dahan?

It just seems like an unnecessary angle to take when the report contradicts itself and with Abada still under contract for four years, it’s not the 20-year-old that has the strength if any clubs come calling, it’s Celtic.

It’s the dreaded international break. So take away the boredom and try our *BRAND NEW* quiz. Who are Celtic’s most capped players from these countries?
