Right, can we all put this to bed?
Does making one appearance for a club make you a ‘star’?
No, seriously. Does it?
Or is it only when it’s a story about Celtic and the possibility of our manager taking up a role in the English Premier League?
To answer that question, no. It doesn’t.
It makes you a former player (just about), but star? Absolutely not.
Former Celtic star Paul Slane on Liverpool's next manager:
“I think Postecoglou’s going to be the next Liverpool manager, I really do, I think he’ll be the next Liverpool manager when Jurgen Klopp decides to go or Liverpool decide to part with him." #lfc [liverpool echo]

If Slane is a Celtic star, I dread to think what Raphael Scheidt and Marvin Compper are. Legends?
Look, I get it. I get that in this game, the headline is king. It’s got to draw the reader in and make them read the article but come on.
At least do your homework on the player you are talking about.
The Anfield Watch has almost 1m followers on Twitter. They clearly are a reputable site trusted by their fanbase to deliver quality news about their club.
Granted they are only relaying what the Liverpool Echo are saying but even they don’t refer to him as a ‘star’.
For whatever reason, the Anfield Watch did and I suppose, to their credit, it got their account noticed and maybe a further couple of hundred follows.
