Celtic fans are happy to hear Head of Recruitment Lee Congerton has left the club to join Leicester City today.
The Hoops announced the news on the official club website, shortly before the Foxes confirmed he will be joining former Celtic Park boss Brendan Rodgers in the English Premier League.
Congerton has been in Glasgow since 2017 when Brendan Rodgers recommended him to head up our search for players of the future and players good enough to improve the first-team.
Considering transfer windows since then haven’t been the most joyous of affairs for supporters since then, he’s had to bear the brunt of criticism regarding our recruitment.
There have been some notable successes – striker Odsonne Edouard stands out as one – but many failures too, with high profile flops like Marvin Compper really colouring opinion against the former Chelsea and Hamburg staff member.
Supporters celebrate his departure today, perhaps a warning to Leicester fans not to expect too much from their new man…
