The refereeing standards in Scotland are pretty deplorable.
No one can deny that.
For many years now the men in black have been getting lambasted for missing even the simplest of decisions and one of those they did get correct was at Celtic Park yesterday (shock horror) with Callum McGregor’s red card.
Which is fine but when it comes to consistency, the referee’s are simply not getting it right in Scotland.
And this video made by a Celtic fan about the standard of refereeing decision-making just proves that:

Both tackles denying a goal-scoring opportunity but only one of them gets a red card.
Quite astounding when you look at it.

Both reds and it just highlights how poor the referees are in this country,

And in the case of Sands, there was not even the remotest question of another covering defender. Sands was last man, plain and simple. (BTW I also think CalMac had to go yesterday, but let’s see consistency, please.)

There needs to be a dramatic overhaul on the training of referee’s in this country.
Or at least a common sense discussion about making them full time.
But I’m sure the introduction of VAR after the World Cup will help sort out all these issues. Right?
John loyalist beaton should never be ref in a celtic game especially after getting caught drinking in a loyalist pub with the sevco fans thats how corrupt Scottish football is and the corrupt sfa.spfl do nothing about it and we wonder why eh the 5way agreement was made up to save the biggest cheats in Scottish football ranjurs who were never stripped of there titles our cup but hibs got kick out of the league cup so we know who the sfa.spfl vote for its time the fans started boycotting our game and get shot of the corruption and cheating..
