Celtic have a raft of squad players out on loan at the moment.
Players that, for whatever reason, will just not feature in Ange Postecoglou’s plans.
Ismail Soro, Vasilis Barkas and Albian Ajeti are all out trying to either recapture the form that persuaded Celtic to shell out millions for them or to try and tempt a buyer to take them on permanently.
One player that Ange Postecgolou signed last January just could find it in himself to make the breakthrough into the first team and, to be fair to him, his injury record is more to blame for that than his actual ability.
Yosuke Ideguchi was meant to be that player that could fill in on the defensive midfielder role for Celtic.
Ange earmarked him as a player who he could call upon should anything happen to Callum McGregor.
Unfortunately he was injured on his debut against Alloa after an horrific challenge saw him laid out for months.
By the time he recovered, the team were firing on all cylinders and he never got a look in.
A loan move back to Japan seemed to be a great option for him to seek regular first team football but his injury curse has struck again as Avispa Fukuoka posted on their club website that Ideguchi will be out for a further three months due to a malleolus fracture on his right ankle.
The malleolus is a bone just above the ankle joint and it was suffered when Ideguchi was featuring against Kashiwa earlier this month.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
