Celtic defender Jack Hendry has received major criticism at club level so far this season and that continued on the international scene this weekend, with fans of Scotland unhappy with his performance against Portugal on Sunday.
Alex McLeish’s side fell to a 3-1 friendly defeat at Hampden against the Euro 2016 champions, outclassed throughout the 90 minutes.
None of the defensive line covered themselves in glory, with even players like Andy Robertson looking pretty average at the back, but Jack Hendry appeared to receive more criticism than most.
That’s probably in part due to his meteoric rise from Dundee regular to trusted Celtic man in the space of just a few months, with Brendan Rodgers not afraid to play him in big matches on a regular basis.
Fans though are unconvinced and the latest barrage came via Twitter over the last 24 hours…
Stick up for Jack Hendry a lot as youse know but……….he’s far too inconsistent and you can’t use his age as an excuse. He’s not that young anymore.

Brendan Rodgers thought Jack Hendry was good enough for Celtic. Staggering.
